New computers today are faster, cheaper, more reliable and often smaller. These are all good things. Many new computers however do not have all the same features and connectors that were traditionally found on older systems. Many systems no longer have floppy drives, parallel ports, serial ports or game port adapters. Why, because these devices are being phased out and many users no longer need them. But what about all the specialty users that do?
All is not lost, most of the lost ports and features can be added to new computers either through add-ons or through USB adapters. Sometimes it takes a bit of know-how to get things working but in most cases it can be done.
