Wireless networking is a growing trend. The idea of no wires is very appealing. If you are thinking about going wireless in a business environment here are a couple of ideas to consider. Wireless is more complicated to troubleshoot. Wireless networks need to be secured. Wireless local network traffic is much slower.

Troubleshooting aside, how much do you know about security? In business today, we are beginning to be held to a higher standard when dealing with customer privacy. Network security has to be tied to data security and liability.

The 54G Wireless spec is at best barely half as fast as a 100bt wired network. While network speed usually does not effect internet performance, it will affect network storage speed, shared data access, network printing speed, etc. Local network performance is often not an issue in a home but often is required in a
business setting.
