The new year is upon us and many of us made New Year’s resolutions. How many of us made resolutions to make data backups and perform regular maintenance tasks on our computers? For many of us, making good backups once a year would be a big improvement over never making backups. Remember those precious photos, the letters sent and received, last year’s tax documents, the software we have purchased and downloaded over the internet, our address book: these digital treasures need to be backed up. Losing data is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when. Unbacked up data will eventually be lost. Many of us spend a lot of time on our computers. It only takes a few minutes to open up the case and clean out the fans with some compressed air. Doing so will help your computer run quieter, last longer and give you less problems along the way.
