Today’s tip is a quick way to add program icons to your desktop. A program icon is a short-cut to the program, not the program itself. I have had many worried customers call in, concerned that they had lost a program, when all that had happened was that they had deleted the program’s icon. With Windows, most functions have at least three ways to do the same thing, but this technique is one of the easiest ways to add an icon. Here’s how. Go to START > PROGRAMS. Highlight the program that you wish to create the icon for. Right-Click and select SENT TO and then select DESKTOP. That’s it. You have now sent a short-cut on your Desktop. Remember in Windows XP each user has his own unique desktop.
