When setting up a home network I highly recommend using simple, easily spelled and remembered names for the computer names and for the share names. I have seen many people spend hours trying to get systems networked and being unsuccessful because the computer names were so long and awkward to type that typos kept the network from working. This problem is compounded by a quirk in Windows that makes Windows enter default computer names that are very long and very random It is much easier to type in “\\bobsys” than “\\bob-hwr4593dr349” isn’t it. This use to be known as the KISS principle. Keep it simple silly.
